Lacoste: Platform for global ordering system
B2B E-Commerce Solution Successful on Multiple Continents
Rollout in South America successfully completed
After the e-commerce platform for the international luxury fashion label Lacoste was successfully launched in Asia at the beginning of the year, the rollout in South America has now also been successfully completed. This marks the next step in the international implementation, and the solution is available on multiple continents.
The platform coordinates the complex, global ordering process between garment manufacturers and logo producers. It precisely controls which logo manufacturer delivers to which textile manufacturer – enabled by a complex item mapping with numerous attributes. In addition to detailed product presentation and a functional claims management system, particular attention was paid to fraud management in order to detect, minimize, and monitor potential license violations. The legal backgrounds of the individual parties – in particular their terms and conditions – were also taken into account.
In addition, the solution manages the procurement and allocation of promotional materials for global campaigns and ensures that the correct promotional materials are available in the correct quantities in stores worldwide.
What makes the Lacoste project particularly notable in its scope is the complexity of the assignment logic. Which logo manufacturer delivers to which textile manufacturer, in which market, under which legal framework conditions – this is not a simple database table, but a multidimensional system that simultaneously controls supply chains, monitors license violations, and coordinates promotional materials for global campaigns.
That this system was first rolled out in Asia and now, in 2014, South America has also been successfully integrated shows two things: the platform scales internationally, and syreta delivers solutions that work even under complex global requirements. Wels to South America – that is not a given.
The successful completion of the rollout in South America underscores the ongoing expansion and the successful global implementation of the platform.
Global e-commerce rollouts – what makes international deployment technically complex
A platform that works in Asia and can simply be activated on another continent sounds easier than it is. Legal frameworks differ by country, currencies and tax systems must be taken into account, and local stakeholders — in this case textile manufacturers and logo producers — have different requirements regarding interfaces, languages, and processes. The Lacoste project is further complicated by the fact that the platform is not just a classic web shop, but a complex B2B control system for worldwide license and promotional materials management. Each expansion into a new market therefore means not only a geographical extension, but also adaptation to local conditions while maintaining global consistency. That syreta successfully completed this rollout for Asia and South America demonstrates the scalability of the developed solution — and the ability to map complex international requirements within a unified platform.
