The municipality of Steyregg is presenting itself with a new website, implemented together with the Linz-based agency DJW. The aim of the project was to bring the municipality’s website up to date technically and in terms of content, and to create a modern, easily accessible information platform for residents, citizens, and visitors.
The new online presence consolidates all key information about life in Steyregg on one central platform. Users can find current news, event announcements, information on administration and citizen services, as well as useful content on education, leisure, and clubs. The clearly structured navigation ensures that all content can be reached quickly and easily.
A focus of the project was on keeping content up to date and improving user-friendliness. Those responsible in the municipal administration can now manage and update content independently, ensuring that residents and citizens always remain informed about current developments.
With the relaunch of the website, another step toward a digitally service-oriented approach has been taken. The new platform strengthens communication between the municipality and the population and creates greater transparency regarding ongoing projects and services.
syreta supported the project as part of the digital implementation and assisted with technical integration as well as optimizing editorial workflows. This provides Steyregg with a modern online tool that improves the flow of information and facilitates dialogue with the population.
The new website shows how municipalities can expand their services through the targeted use of digital solutions and simplify access to relevant information.
What a municipal website needs to deliver is different from a commercial online presence: it must be understandable for everyone—young and old, tech-savvy and not. Events, citizen services, administrative information, local news—all of this must be easy to find quickly, without visitors having to search for a long time.
It is crucial that the municipality’s editorial team will be able to maintain content themselves in the future: a municipal website only stays up to date if residents and citizens don’t have to wait for developers to add a new event. The CMS system in the background makes exactly that possible. Together with DJW, a presence has been created that positions Steyregg as digitally service-oriented.
Municipal websites - underestimated digitalization projects
Websites for municipalities and cities have their own requirements that differ significantly from commercial projects. The target group ranges from seniors looking for official information to families who want to learn about schools and leisure activities. Accessibility, simple navigation, and clear language are not optional features, but basic prerequisites. At the same time, municipal employees must be able to maintain content independently without prior technical knowledge—because up-to-date information is the heart of a municipal website. That syreta and DJW have implemented these requirements for Steyregg shows that digital competence is not only in demand in retail, but wherever people need reliable and accessible information.
