KUVAG - New Website for the Insulation Specialist

KUVAG is the world’s leading independent manufacturer of insulation technology. The group, headquartered in Neumarkt/Hausruck, commissioned syreta to create a new web portal. The website will initially be developed in German and English; other languages will follow. The major challenge is to present KUVAG’s highly technical services and product portfolio in such a way that visitors to the portal can gain a well-founded overview, while ensuring the company’s competencies are not portrayed too superficially. The new KUVAG website will go online in early summer 2011.

What so precisely describes the core challenge in the KUVAG project is the tension between depth and accessibility. Insulation technology at world-market-leader level is a highly specialized field - technical expertise, product range, and international projects must be presented so that a specialist visitor finds the depth they are looking for, without overwhelming any visitor.

German and English as the first language versions are the logical starting point for a company headquartered in Neumarkt im Hausruck with international business. Additional languages are to follow - the technical foundation for this is being considered from the outset with the new system.

We are looking forward to the go-live in early summer and are eager to see how the new portal is received by customers and partners.

Presenting highly complex technology in an understandable way - the real challenge

KUVAG is the global market leader in insulation technology — a niche market with high technical demands. The target audience of the website includes engineers, buyers, and technical decision-makers from industry and energy supply, who know exactly what they are looking for and expect a website to deliver this information quickly and completely. At the same time, a visitor who does not yet know KUVAG should be able to gain a well-founded overview of the company and its competencies in a short time. Finding this balance — between technical depth and understandable accessibility — is the real design and conceptual task for such a website. Too much simplification looks unprofessional; too much technical jargon is off-putting. syreta has taken on this challenge for KUVAG.

Thinking multilingualism in from the start

The fact that the new KUVAG website is planned to be bilingual from the outset — German and English — and that additional languages are to follow is not an afterthought, but a strategic signal: a global market leader addresses its international customers in their language. Anyone who integrates multilingualism into an existing system later almost always creates technical and editorial problems. Anyone who builds it into the website architecture from the start as a basic requirement lays the foundation for a scalable, professional international presence — exactly what a company with KUVAG’s global ambitions needs.
