Online and Offline – the shopping world of Grill&Co
In the two Grill&Co Weber® Original Stores, grill masters will find their El Dorado across a total of around 2,000 square meters: Weber® store, grill academy, seminar rooms, show kitchens, and much more. While customers in the grill seminar fillet steaks, discuss the advantages of charcoal with the grill pros, and shop directly in the store or in the online shop, BMD’s powerful business software runs in the background (inventory management, financial accounting, CRM, time tracking, etc.).
The integrated online shop was developed and implemented by syreta. Everything runs here – in sync! There is no longer any separation between online and offline, explains Andreas Tauschek from Syreta: “For example, the customer can buy vouchers in the online shop and redeem them later in the store. If they buy items in the store, these are automatically saved in their online account. At Grill&Co there is now a self-contained shopping world!” Other highlights include the product configurator, customer reviews, and the clear presentation and description of all products.
Benedikt Mitterlehner and Matthias Fuchs are the managing directors of Grill&Co: “Here in the store, our customers experience the world of grilling up close, they receive detailed advice and can see and touch the products directly on site – or simply test them in one of the grill seminars. That is still something very special! Nevertheless, not everyone has the time to come here. Through our online shop, it is possible to view all products and information conveniently from home – and shop directly. Ordering vouchers for our seminars is particularly popular and, above all, practical. With BMD and syreta we have found two partners who support us in this complex topic – very professionally, step by step.”
What makes the Grill&Co project technically special is the complete removal of the boundary between online and offline. Vouchers that are purchased online and redeemed in the store. Items that are bought in the store and automatically saved in the online account. That sounds like a small thing – but technically it is a complex synchronization task that only works smoothly when the shop, POS system, and inventory management system really communicate with each other.
The fact that BMD provides the business software and syreta the online shop – and that both work seamlessly together – is a good example of how partnership models work in e-commerce: clear responsibilities, clean interfaces, one result.
