A door every day for a good cause

The coronavirus crisis has put many of us in unexpected situations and turned our lives upside down. Precisely for that reason, it is important, especially this Christmas season, to pause and think of those who may have lost their entire livelihoods due to strokes of fate.

Since 2014, the Charity Advent Calendar of the Lions Clubs Linz Johannes Kepler and Aliter has been returning every year with the Advent season. The net proceeds help children and families in need in Austria.

The concept is as simple as it is brilliant. Numerous partners and sponsors provide prizes waiting behind the little doors. By purchasing an Advent calendar, you receive a code that lets you take part in the daily prize draw.

For us at syreta, it was a special pleasure to support the Lions Clubs again this year and to make an important contribution by implementing the Advent calendar.

What has appealed to syreta year after year in this project since 2014 is the combination of technical implementation and genuine social benefit. A digital Advent calendar is not a complex system – but it has to function reliably, ensure a fair draw every day, and be easy for all participants to use. That is craftsmanship in the service of a good cause.

The fact that the concept has now also been adopted by the Lions Club Wels and that syreta is also responsible for the implementation there shows: when something works well, word gets around. Even at Christmas time.

We are also pleased that the project has been so well received that the Lions Club Wels has also decided to implement a charity calendar. Here, too, we were happy to share our knowledge and know-how.
